Kurtatsch

A sunny balcony over the valley
The idyllic wine village lies on a sunny high plateau 333 m a.s.l. During the mid-stone age the area was already used by hunters and collectors. During the Roman time, there were already a number of meaningful settlements in the fertile area in and around Cortaccia.
Special places to visit include the pilgrim church of the Sorrowful Mother of God with the Roman tower, the Museum of People through Time where the history of Bozen & environs from the Stone Age to the New Age gets depicted, the educational wine path, the tree and shrub path Bödala and the many imposing manors and wineries which bear witness to a long tradition of wine making.
